Ayla Marie Decaire is a Florida-born, California-hearted, New York City-based artist, specializing in acting, dance, painting, and puppet-making.
As an actor, she approaches the work through Feldenkrais, Michael Chekhov technique, and viewpoints. With a deep commitment to authenticity and empathetic storytelling, she strives to uncover the humanity and lovable qualities in every character she holds. Ayla is currently a member of the MFA Acting program at Columbia University, School of the Arts (Cohort ‘26).
As a painter, Ayla creates vibrant and detailed images that teeter between abstraction and realism—giving the viewers a colorful and intricate canvas to explore. Blending what she sees and what she dreams, Ayla draws inspiration primarily from nature, hoping to capture the whimsy and magic that our earth so generously provides us with.
She believes that it is through art and storytelling that the world can heal.
